Why we're here

Buckskin and South Ham are neighbourhoods with strong communities, proud histories and real potential. Over the last few years, residents have shared their experiences, ideas and ambitions for the future, helping to shape a new vision for the area. 

Together, we're exploring how investment in homes, neighbourhoods, green spaces and community facilities could create new opportunities for current and future generations. 

This website is the place to find out more about that vision, follow progress and continue to be part of the conversation.

Explore the neighbourhoods

Buckskin, South Ham Extension and South Ham are closely connected, but each place has its own feel, strengths and challenges. Residents have told us what they like about where they live, what can be difficult, and what they would like to see improve. 

This section shares what we have heard so far for each neighbourhood. The ideas are still developing, and they are shaped by what residents have told us, including the shared principles created with Community Co-Design Associates: better homes, safer routes, greener spaces, more opportunities for young people, local shops and services that feel cared for, and places where people can meet and feel welcome.

    Buckskin

    A strong community with valued green spaces, where future ideas could support warmer homes, safer streets and better local connections.

    South Ham Extension

    A smaller area between Buckskin and South Ham, where clearer routes, greener streets and more welcoming places could make daily life easier.

Across all three neighbourhooods

Residents have been clear that change needs to be careful, open and shaped with the community. Across Buckskin, South Ham Extension and South Ham, the aim is to support better homes, safer and greener streets, stronger community spaces and more opportunities for people of all ages. Local voices will continue to guide what happens next.
