The Resident Led Group

The Resident Led Group (RLG) brings together local residents from Buckskin and South Ham to help shape conversations about the future of their community. The independent group was established following feedback from residents who told us they wanted a stronger voice and greater involvement in plans for the area. 

Made up of people from different backgrounds, ages and neighbourhoods, the RLG provides a space for residents to share their views, raise questions and help represent the wider community. Members will work with Sovereign Hill Partnership and project partners to review proposals, provide feedback and help ensure local perspectives are considered as plans develop. 

The group is resident-led and supported by independent facilitator NewmanFrancis, helping to make sure discussions are open, inclusive and transparent, as well as providing ongoing support and training for the members. 

The group will be involved in discussions about a range of topics, including: 

• Regeneration priorities and emerging plans 
• How residents are engaged and consulted throughout the process 
• The delivery of projects and how they impact the community 
• Monitoring progress and identifying what's working well, as well as opportunities for improvement. 

The RLG is an advisory and influencing group rather than a decision-making body. Its role is to provide constructive challenge, represent community perspectives and help ensure that local voices are heard before decisions are made. 

At its heart, the Resident Led Group is about giving residents a meaningful voice and helping to shape the future of Buckskin and South Ham together.
