Over the past few years, thousands of residents have taken part in conversations, workshops and surveys. This collective insight is helping shape the emerging masterplan, and the project is beginning the next phase of the programme.
The exhibition boards explain where the team is in the masterplanning process, what the initial priority areas for investment are, which ideas are still evolving, the commitments to residents, and how local people can continue to stay involved.
Explaining the map
The map highlights four key areas, explaining where the project is in the decision-making process.
Key areas
There are no plans to redevelop homes people are currently living in in this area. Some improvements may happen, such as refurbishing certain SNG-owned properties, adding new homes in infill sites, or upgrading local infrastructure like parks, roads, pathways or lighting. SNG will continue to maintain and improve the homes it owns.
This part of Pinkerton Road has been identified as a priority area for potential renewal, where investment could help strengthen the neighbourhood and enhance quality of life. Residents are being invited into conversation about how the area could benefit from improvements to homes and shared spaces, shaped by community needs and aspirations.
Two small areas — Cotswold Close and Winchester Road — have been selected as potential pilot projects for investment and meaningful home improvements, intended as the first of many refurbishment projects.
Options are still being explored for these areas and no decisions have been made on whether homes will be redeveloped. No decisions on redevelopment will be made without extensive engagement and consultation with the community. SNG will continue maintaining and investing in the homes it owns.

Supporting residents
If regeneration or improvement works mean a resident needs to permanently move out of their home, the law sets out protections to make sure people are treated fairly. These legal protections are statutory obligations, and that the project will go above and beyond them to make sure the process is fair and transparent.
Residents would be supported by:
- receiving fair compensation and support reflecting their circumstances, set out in a personalised customer offer.
- receiving clear information about the customer offer, event timelines, milestones and decision-making.
- taking part in future co-design opportunities.
- knowing where, when and how to ask questions and share views.
- receiving support to stay in the Buckskin or South Ham area.
